RCS Mindfulness Based Living for Wellbeing, Creativity and Performance
This eight-week course is for people age 16+ who wish to explore how mindfulness can benefit wellbeing as well as improve creativity and performance.
Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment. This attention is developed through meditation to focus on the ‘present’, which over time can limit distracting thoughts, rumination and worry.
Mindfulness can be used with performers in all disciplines; to develop skills such as distraction control, focus, and regulation of anxiety and other emotions, which in turn can affect quality and enjoyment of performance.
When we learn strategies to manage emotions, such as anxiety, anger, frustration we free up important attentional processes to focus on performing and functioning as we would like in our life and work. This also allows us to find space, internally and externally to connect to being increasingly creative.
Please note, in addition to the eight 2-hour evening sessions, a full day retreat for participants will run on Saturday 30th May. This is an opportunity to put learning from the course into practice in a focused environment, but is optional and you do not need to attend in order to successfully complete the course.

Time: 18:30 – 20:30
Cost: £280
